What is micro-dosing?

1. Micro-dosing is taking a sub perceptual amount of magic mushrooms introduced to your daily routine for higher levels of creativity, more energy, increased focus, and improved relational skills. It’s not enough to trip or have any type of visuals, but it’s enough to have amazing brain benefits. When consumed, psilocybin starts to mimic serotonin and stimulates a receptor called the 5HT2A receptor. This does two amazing things:
   It stimulates BDNF, aka brain derived neurotrophic factor, which is basically miracle growth for the brain. It’s responsible for new growth, connections, and activity.
2. It increases transmission of glutamate. Glutamate is a neurotransmitter responsible for learning, memory, and cognition.
   So how does it feel? It’s pretty rare, but some people say they feel nothing at all. At first, the most common effects are elevated mood and positive emotions such as appreciation, gratitude, love, and happiness. Some people say it’s just harder to get irritated, depressed, and anxious.

Some consumers ‘Micro-dose at slightly higher levels from 1.5mg (150mg of dried magic mushrooms equivalent) to 5mg of Psilocybin (500mg of dried magic mushrooms equivalent). This is all dependent on personal preference, tolerance, desired effects, overall body weight, amount of food in your belly, and whether the consumer wants sub perceptual effects (which accumulate over time) or noticeable (immediate) effects.

Consuming 5mg – 15mg of Psilocybin is commonly considered a low dose that still produces noticeable effects. These usually aren’t full-blown psychedelic effects with overt visuals or a break from consensus reality; you’re more likely to report euphoria and an enhancement of the senses such as seeing more vibrant colours, increased creativity, altered sound perception, close eyed visuals, boosts in energy, and connection to nature or surroundings.

When Consuming 15mg – 35mg of Psilocybin you will likely experience some psychedelic effects, including open- and closed-eye visuals, some synesthesia (blending of the senses), a much heavier euphoria. and connection to nature, your surrounding and your emotions. However, you may not experience a complete dissolution of your normal sense of self, or the truly mind-blowing effects people report from higher doses. High dose: 35mg – 45mg of Psilocybin (the equivalent of 3.5 – 4.5 grams of dried magic mushrooms)

This is for the intermediate to advanced Psychonaut! Ready or not, you’re going to have a full-blown psychedelic experience that will include heavy perceptual and cognitive distortions. You may or may not be able to hold a conversation or accurately perceive your surroundings, especially at the peaks, which often come in waves. No two trips are exactly alike, but you’re pretty much guaranteed to look back on this as a stand-out experience of your life. It is not advisable to take a high dose unless you have a safe, supervised setting to take them in. You will experience intense waves of energy, intense open and closed eyed visuals, intense auditory hallucinations, synesthesia (blending of the senses), possibly dissolution of self, intense connection to all things, inanimate objects movements (things that don’t normally move start to move), loss of time, slipping of reality, ego dissolution, and out of body experiences.

Ultra-high dose: 50mg of Psilocybin + (the equivalent of 5 grams or more of dried magic mushrooms)

The late Terrence McKenna famously described the “heroic dose,” his preferred way of diving into the full depth of the mushroom experience: Five dried grams of mushrooms or more in silent darkness. At this dose, there’s not much you can do but lay down somewhere comfortable and let the experience wash over you. “You” won’t really be there once it hits. It will most likely be overwhelming, perhaps bizarre, and indescribable. Taking a dose this large is rare. Few people, even experienced psychonauts, ever take this much. It is not advisable to take even close to this dose without significant experience and an ultra-safe, comfortable setting.

It is common to experience a complete loss of senses, ego death, and a complete disconnect from reality.
